Loooove it!

So I've heard everyone and their mom talk about Etsy. I never knew much about it and really had been way too busy to check it out.

But awhile ago, I thought of something I needed and checked it out. Then today, went OVERBOARD buying gifts (birthdays, mothers/fathers days are coming up and this was a super simple way of finding neat stuff!) for other people.

Next on my agenda is to scour Etsy for things for myself :) There's a lot I like and find totally adorable.

Have you shopped Etsy lately?! If not, seriously check it out.

Products I'm semi-in love with (if you like 'em, I provided the links just click on the descriptions):

Birthday Wish List!

With my birthday coming up in19 days, I've started thinking about another wish list! Actually, what's really driving this post is my cell phone contract's upgrade on April 14.

My current iPhone was a gently-used gift about a year ago. Currently the phone has reached the two-year life span and craps out on me nearly every day. Whenever it freezes, I can't receive/send calls/texts/e-mails and there is zero function on it. The battery drains hecka fast and it's essentially dying.

So in April, I'm hoping for an iPhone 3GS! Unless purchased for my birthday, looks like I'm going to suck it up and buy one when the contract expires. I like the white one and I really like this phone cover:

And hey, if I don't end up getting a new phone, I have a back up wish:

LASIK!!! Pay me for half of it, I don't care!! But my glasses give me massive headaches and now that we're approaching the spring my eye allergies are affecting my contacts and subsequently, vision. I think I'm limited to wearing contacts for less than five hours a day, and glasses for no more than two. In the evenings, I've resorted to stumbling around or creating more face wrinkles by severely squinting to see things sans corrective lenses.

What should I do?!? If I had some financial assistance, I'd sign up for LASIK in the summer ;) They can do it without the use of knives now, so it's purely laser-driven.

.....That, or I'm ready to have a quarter-life crisis in a few weeks! :)

More wishes!

Here are some amendments to my holiday wish list! (Even if no one's getting me this stuff, it's so fun to make wishlists and look up fun big kid toys online).

Oh it's also National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) so I'm trying to be proactive and post every day this month. Whether or not that happens is a different story, but it's worth a shot!

So things I'm really liking/wanting right now:

-New flat iron, since mine broke, RIP buddy. Preferably of the brands Solia, Hana or CHI.

-Learn language tapes/books/aids! I'm still trying to listen to French podcasts and watch the news online on a regular basis, but now I'm ready to dive into another language. I'm really interested in both Spanish and German right now. Though, I still have my study book and exercise book from my one quarter of Spanish at UC Santa Barbara my senior year.

Though I've not yet used them, I like the initial look of the Teach Yourself and Living Languages programs, from what I saw at Barnes & Noble earlier this week.

-And finally, Mitch Albom's (author of Tuesdays With Morrie) new book, Have A Little Faith. He's such a talented writer. I may actually purchase this book on my Sony eReader later this week.... We'll see :)

-I would also be open to money to insert into my savings account, for future travel plans! :)

Home sick for a second day

I think I tried to get back into the eating game too quickly last night. My stomach was feeling much better, so I resumed my eating habits as if I'd never been sick before and as if I wasn't on an empty stomach.

Waking up this morning was a nightmare, I felt like I'd be throwing up all over again. So I slept it off. And then I slept it off. And then I slept it off again, and I'm feeling sluggishly better now. I'm easing my way into soups and snacks. I'm not going to go overboard this time.

But being in bed for the past two days has given way to a lot of television and a lot of Internet searching.

Without further ado, I present to you my holiday wish list! (Too soon?)

A real, digital camera. With an actual lens. I'm over my little point-and-shoot cameras. These are much higher quality. Doesn't even have to be a Cannon!

New running shoes (and also shoes I can wear to outdoor events like soccer and baseball, since heels aren't so good on muddy and gravel surfaces). I really want some Nike Shox, in black :) These are the Navina +4 series.

Diesel Fuel for Life (Her). I bought this when I was in France and trying to blow through all my leftover Euros on hand. I bought this at a cute little fragrance boutique in Vieux Antibes. But now I've run out. I'm ready for a restock!

Wii Fit. Duh. I have a Wii. All I need is the Fit board and software :)

The HP dv3t series. I've spec-ed one out already for my cousin who works there. It's about $700... a bit pricey for a Christmas present. Maybe Christmas and birthday?! :) Or maybe I'll charge it to my credit card at the end of the year and make a purchase like this all on my own.

Maybe Baby fragrance. Aimee got this for Christmas one year and I love it! It smells like roses. If I get one, you can use a bunch of it Aims, to take back what I've used from yours :)

That's about it for my holiday wishlist. Maybe when I'm bored at home all day again, I'll think of some amendments to the list!

Weekend wish list

So this weekend J.D. and I were in Lodi and had brunch with his parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew. We ended up going out there because he had to take his Mustang into the Ford dealership for its annual servicing.

Well, I've been liking the 2010 Ford Fusion for a while now, ever since we saw one at the San Joaquin County Fair earlier this summer. Originally, we had planned on test driving one, but I'm in nooooo rush to buy a car just yet. I'm merely weighing my options for the next two years.

But I still really like the Fusion. And I also like the Edge, which I had never really seen before. Lots to look forward to in my future car purchasing life.... (Within the next two years I hope!)

The Edge:

The Fusion:

We also drove by the Lodi animal shelter on the way home and I talked him into letting me stop and look at puppies. I fell in love with one, but again... no luck coming home with anything. It's getting pretty hard to NOT pick out a puppy. I want one so so so badly.

So I guess it's just going to stay as a wish.

A girl can hope for a puppy and a new car in the next year, right? That's not too much??
