Voodoo

While in Portland this weekend, I certainly wanted to sample a quirky place I'd seen featured on the Food Network: Voodoo Doughnuts, whose menu includes things like a maple bacon bar and at one point used to sell a NyQuil doughnut that's since been banned by the FDA.

So Kyle and I went there and purchased two treats a piece, which we certainly did not consume at the same time. Those things were sooooo sweet that I could only eat half before throwing the rest of it out.

The menu

Miami Vice Berry (Berry powdered drink and sprinkles)

Voodoo Doll (Complete with pretzel "pin" and red jelly filling)

Old Dirty Bastard (Rice Krispies, chocolate & peanut butter drizzle)

Gosh they were good though. And even though it was a tiny, hole-in-the-wall place, the line was out the door at all hours of operation. Which is crazy, since it's open from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. Yeah, it's only closed for three hours.

Oh yeah, and I kept walking past/seeing this sign from my hotel room:

Think that about sums it up!
